This is just a run down on how we sort our member groups and what you might want to consider when making people in them.
BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS UNIT
The BAU is an FBI organization which assists law enforcement agencies by reviewing and assessing the facts of a criminal act and proving insight into the mind of the unidentified subject, or unsub. The majority of the played canons will be BAU members. Originals in the BAU are also welcome, however, to be accepted their background must make sense. Original members of the BAU may not be predeterminedly placed on the team with canons.
FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION
Aside from the BAU, there are numerous other federal branches, all which we welcome characters under (and if there are enough the may also be subject to becoming their own group). Like with BAU members, we expect all FBI special agents to make sense. Aside from field agents, FBI group characters may also be office based professionals who specialize in technology, linguistics, etc. ALL FBI members must pass a background check and certain other credentials. Keep this in mind.
LOCAL AUTHORITIES
Sheriffs, police officers, and even some private securities and detective would fall into this category. We're more open here to accepting younger characters, and even some who aren't genuinely the "best" people. In this group we would also consider other government affiliated authorities (firefighters, ie) and those who work directly with the police (ie, field forensics specialists) Local authorities and federal agents often work together.
MEDIA
A much more important category than often gets its credit. The media can make or break an investigation by providing the profile that catches a killer to the public, or maybe causing the same killer to snap to early. Media people include newspapers, television, and radio and they'll play integral roles in all site plots.
UNSUBS
An unsub is any individual who's committed a crime and hasn't been caught, regardless of if it was thirty years ago, or last night. For the purpose of member groups, an unsub would also be anyone PLANNING on committing a crime. An unsub can also have a role in another member group (i.e.- dirty cop or media person). Unsubs generally are very complex, developed characters with a specific type of psyche. Canon unsubs, site canon unsubs, and original unsubs will all be accepted.
CIVILIANS
Basically, everyone else. They're not really "others", like a lot of site consider them. They're witnesses, their victims, their families and business owners and writers and students and retired members of any other group. Maybe even a former unsub let out of jail. Be creative. They're as subject to adventure as you make them.
